Training
Regulations require that all nursing and domiciliary care providers comply with set minimum standards for the induction and training of all grades of staff. We have embraced this by appointing a full-time training professional and have several NVQ Assessors and Verifiers on our staff.
We not only provide training for our own staff, but also training for other organisations. Some specialist training which may be outside our own training competencies is provided by appropriate external organisations.
Our key training may include:-
- Manual handling
- NVQ Level 2 and 3 in care
- Management of Aggression
- First Aid / CPR
- Fire Safety
- Protection of Vulnerable Adults
- Dementia
- Alzheimer's
- Hospital Orientation - HCA's
- Stroke
- Blood Transfusions
- Venepuncture
The majority of our training is provided free of charge to our own staff. If there is a charge then it is normally for more specialised training where we have to 'buy in' external professional training, but even then the cost is usually heavily subsidised.
We have three dedicated training rooms, including a 14 seat lecture room and a 'practical' room equipped for training in manual handling and various care and nursing procedures.
Note: Those organisations that may be interested in hiring these facilities should phone or email us requesting our 'Training Room Hire Information Sheet'. Room hire can also include the use of various training aids and refreshments.
