THE EVERYCARE XMAS PARTY 2009
On Friday 18th December we held our annual staff party at the Town Hall in Dorchester, and many have already commented that it was the best ever!
EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AWARD winners were community care assistant Ethel Breakspear and health care assistant Robin Hankin. When presenting the awards of a certificate and gift voucher Everycare Director Lorrie Truelove said:-
"Ethel has the ability to manage particularly complex situations within home care adeptly using her inimitable sense of humour when appropriate. She establishes a rapport with clients very quickly and effectively and is popular with everyone she visits."
"Since joining Everycare Robin has made significant progress in all areas of care, accepting feedback on performance and reacting in a positive way. He works well within teams to ensure that clients have the best possible outcome. Various colleagues (including other Everycare staff) gave positive feedback on his performance and the pleasure they get from working with him."
Lorrie Truelove adds that she is very proud of the way that all our staff have performed throughout 2009, which has undoubtedly contributed to our re-affirmation of our ‘excellent’ rating by the Care Quality Commission for our nursing services and the achievement of an ‘excellent’ rating for our domiciliary care services.
STAFF PRIZE DRAW WINNERS were:-
- First Prize (£150 'Goulds' Gift Voucher) - Di Thompson
- Second Prize (£75 Hamper from 'The Fridge') - Jenny Apperley
- Third Prize (£50) 'On The Table' Gift Voucher) - Helen Haskell
Congratulations to them all.
SPECIAL THANKS are extended to Helen Haskell who did all the wonderful food preparation. Many have said that it was the best ever!

OFFICIAL RECOGNITION OF OUR HIGH STANDARDS
In March and July 2009 we had unannounced inspections of our Domiciliary Care and Nursing Services businesses by the Care Quality Commission as part of their normal quality assurance process. We are delighted to confirm that both services achieved the highest standard attainable, which is Three Star (Excellent).
We are especially proud of this achievement, for although the two services have to be separately registered with the CQC, there is inevitably a substantial integration, especially for domiciliary services.
At the time of this announcement, the CQC web site indicates that we are currently the only combined nursing and domiciliary care business in Dorset to possess a Three Star (Excellent) rating for both services.
